Birch Wedding Invitation: A rustic wedding invite perfect for an outdoor wedding by the beach or at the cottage. Textured fern impression paper is formed from the actual chlorophyll of the plants when the leaves are pressed into the sheets and then set to dry in the sun. The large imprints are made from leaves of the castor oil plant, and the small leaves are from the margosa tree, both native to India. Rich in tradition, leaf impression paper have been produced in India for generations. Handmade in India from Cotton with Silk Inclusions each paper has an acid free base. Wrapped beautifully with a brown wood grained paper called papyrus is attached with metallic clasps.
Papyrus dating to 2700 BC has been found intact in Egypt’s tombs and temples. This dark papyrus is "aged" in water to achieve a darker color and less solid sheet. This paper is acid free, handmade in Egypt and will last for a few thousand years.
The invitation opens beautifully into a folder style where the invite components are nicely displayed at the tip of your fingers. Rustic in nature and simply elegant in style.
